DAIHATSU INFINEARTH, JPNH2YDRO and BeHydro formalise distribution agreement

Ghent, Belgium, 10 April 2026 - DAIHATSU INFINEARTH, JPNH₂YDRO and BeHydro officially signed a distribution agreement at ABC Engines in Ghent, marking a key milestone in their collaboration to introduce hydrogen engine technology to the Japanese maritime market.

The agreement formalises the partnership that was previously announced in 2025 and confirms JPNH₂YDRO as BeHydro’s general agent in Japan. Under the agreement, JPNH₂YDRO will oversee the import, local performance testing and delivery of BeHydro hydrogen engines, working closely with DAIHATSU INFINEARTH and BeHydro.

The collaboration focuses on the deployment of BeHydro’s dual fuel and 100% hydrogen internal combustion engines in Japan’s ports and coastal shipping sector. These engines, already in commercial operation in Europe, will be adapted to meet Japanese regulatory standards and supported by local testing, commissioning and after-sales services.

DAIHATSU INFINEARTH brings its extensive expertise in engine development, manufacturing and regulatory processes, supporting validation and approval activities in Japan. Technical knowledge exchange between the three partners will ensure reliable integration, operational safety and further innovation.

With the signing of this agreement, the partners reaffirm their shared ambition to support the decarbonisation of maritime transport and to accelerate the introduction of practical, low-carbon solutions in Japan.
